2021 Treasurer

Jake Carless

1. What unique values, skills, events, or traditions will you bring to the table and your position if elected as an ASB officer for your class?
A Treasurer is a person who assists the other members of the Student Council and is in charge of the schools money. If I was elected as your Treasurer I would do everything in my power to help others in ASB to create a better environment for the students of South Pasadena High School and take care of the funds. I will always share and help take care of the important needs, funds, and requests of the school. I will also listen and hear out any suggestions my fellow classmates and peers may have. I have been involved with soccer since I was six years old. Soccer has taught me more than I would have ever imagined. From teamwork to being a leader and everything in between soccer has definitely transformed me into a better and improved person. I am also a Boy Scout and have achieved the rank of Star Scout. I am very close to achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Boy Scouts has taught me to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, curious, kind, obedient, cheerful, and organized. If  I am elected I will propose selling drinks at the student store so that students that sit on the east side of campus will not have to walk a long distance to buy drinks. I would be honored to be elected as your Treasurer and will strive to make the class of 2021 better than ever!

I am apart of color guard/winter guard and I’ve created multiple of my own “businesses”. One may think, how are these helpful for the position of treasurer, but I can assure you they are. Being a part of guard taught me the significances of hard work, the drive to be better than before, and teamwork. Color and winter guard are both team performances, if someone is struggling you want them to do great because that’s what it means to be a team. As a performer you always want your next show to be better than before, which can adapt to life, you always want to be a better person or a better leader than before. To be better one must work hard, guard has 3-4 hours of practice, 3 times a week, and an occasional Saturday practice. My involvement with guard shows that I am dedicated, can manage my own time, motivated, and a team player. Plus if you know me, you would know that I constantly created my own little ventures, which will be a great quality for a treasurer, I can think of creative fundraisers and handle money very well. I promise I will be hard working, constantly pushing myself to be a better leader, listening to all the voices that stay unheard, and expressing the concerns of our class. I believe these traits will help me, help SPHS.
