2022 Treasure

Jaren Sin

1. What unique values, skills, events, or traditions will you bring to the table and your position if elected as an ASB officer for your class?
If elected as an ASB officer, I will be responsible, careful and disciplined in managing the class finances. I lead a team twice to the Global Finals in a competition called Destination Imagination. One year, we raised approximately $4000 in selling boba and flocking the community to pay for part of our trip.  Being on the DI team, I learned to listen to everyone’s ideas on the team while working under pressure.  Hearing everyone’s ideas is always better than any one’s individual idea.
If elected, I will be a cooperative team member in ASB. We all know that being on a sports team requires incredible teamwork for success.   I’ve been on a Water Polo team for the past six years. I’ve learned that everyone needs to be on the same page in order to accomplish a win. The only way to do that is to plan ahead and communicate with team members during the game.
Around campus I see posters for different fundraising activities such as going to Chipotle and Blaze.  I want to bring new ideas and advertise these activities by using social media to advertise to more SPHS student bodies.  If elected, I will be an enthusiastic team member who will be responsible for managing Sophomore class finances.

1. What unique values, skills, events, or traditions will you bring to the table and your position if elected as an ASB officer for your class?
If elected as treasurer, I hope to bring new ideas to the table from my experience in fundraising, money management, and budgeting. I have also gotten very involved with this school by being a member of the clubs Girl Up, Red Cross, and Tigers for the Asian American Community. My time in ASB’s Freshman Activities Board has enhanced my teamwork skills as well as my creative thinking. Being in dance for 12 years has helped me be familiar with constant changes and adapting easily to those changes and has also given me experience in fundraising. I have been on the accelerated math course all throughout middle school and this previous year, so, I mean, I’m not bad at math. I am quick to learn skills and my time volunteering within the community has taught me leadership traits. Even though being treasurer is more behind the scenes, I still have the skills and values to bring to the table if elected.
